Here's an embarrassing treat from my past. Gordon Wallace's Book of Everyday Things version 3.
You will have noticed that the cover and contents page somehow don't look right. Notice on the final page ("Boat") that there is a noticeable use of two different pens in doing the outline. By the time I was drawing that page the pen I had been using to that point had run out of ink and I (reluctantly) had to switch to (a more thinker-lined) pen. The contents page was the last to be done and was done with that (thicker) pen. I didn't like the result, so when it came to the cover, I just used a pencil instead. Looks better than that pen.
Also, you will have noticed the randomness of the subject line-up. I never planned it.
I just made it two pages at a time choosing each subject as I felt like doing.
