With the subject of Ash Ketchum's age been a massive topic in the fandom, It was obvious that for the final sketches of the Pokémon 20th Anniversary Special I had to do the characters as they would look like in 2016 if they had aged.
Of course, such art work has been done before, but what makes these stand out is that the age they are portrayed is determined by how long they have been on our TV screens. For example, Dawn (from Sinnoh) was 10 when she first appeared in 2006. This means that in 2016 she'll be 20. Of course, not everyone's age has been confirmed. Some are speculated by the fandom. For example, Tracey's age has never been mentioned, but because he looks about the same age as Brock (and has a similar mental age) most assume (when he first appeared in 1999) he is about the same age as Brock - 15. I hope when it came to those characters I choose the most agreeable age to portray them.
